DAY 18 OF THE 30-DAY BLOGGING CHALLENGE

RETAIL RUNDOWN

One of the perks of my job is getting to shop and find unique furniture, accessory, and lighting items for my clients. Typically the accessories are the last step in the process, and the budget is tight, so that means I need to get creative and find items that look amazing for a fraction of the cost. Every Saturday, I'm sharing my Retail Rundown so you can get a glimpse into the latest and greatest in the retail world.

Lately, I've been stocking up on accessories for several projects that are wrapping up and gearing up for upcoming photoshoots (stay tuned for new projects coming to the site this spring)! Target is always a go-to source for those last-minute pieces that I need, and right now, they are killing it with their home accents lines! Here are a few of my favorites.

Let's dive in!

Here are just a few of the types of items I love to grab from Target for my clients (and occasionally myself). Not everything shown will be available in the store, every store has a little bit different selection, but you can always order online. Happy Shopping!

Common Fig // Trailing Fern // Maiden Hair Fern // Fiddle Leaf Fig

faux plants

I prefer to use a real plant, but they can be a lot of work, and some of my clients aren't interested in the upkeep. So for filling in bookcases (where they might not get sunlight) or on a cocktail table where kids can grab them, I love to incorporate a faux plant to add a little greenery to a room. Just make sure to dust them, so they don't feel so fake.

Floor Lamp // Wood Table Lamp // White Table Lamp // Woven Pendant

Lighting

Lighting is the single most impactful way to change the feel of a room, and it doesn't have to be complicated. Add a lamp to a dark corner of a room or add a ceiling pendant for more a visual impact. Always use dimmers so you can control the light to match the mood you're feeling. Target has some fun lamps in all sizes, from tiny lamps that work well on a desk, to cool mid-century inspired floor lamps and boho pendants.

Aged Vase // White Vase with Tassel // Short White Vase // Tall White Vase // Black Wood Vase // Natural Vase

Vases

There's no shortage of amazing vases to pick from at Target right now, and when they're at a price that's this good, I would recommend grabbing a few to style your bookshelves, mantel, or cocktail table. I like to use vases as a filler to mix in with books, pictures, and other small accessories when I'm decorating for my client. If you don't want the vases to be the focal point, try using a bunch of different shapes and sizes in the same color spread evenly throughout your decor.

Black Stool // Gold End Table // White Metal Stool // Wood Backless Stool

Accent Furniture

I might sound like a crazy person, but I like to stock up on cute end tables and little stools to have on hand for my cleints. They can easily be incorporated into any room, whether you're raising a plant on a stool for height, need a couple of extra seats for large gatherings or a drink table next to a chair. Target has an excellent selection that they change up regularly, so keep your eyes out on your next #targetrun.

Long Tray // Round Tray // Leather Handle Tray

Trays

Who couldn't use a tray, right? I may be a bit extreme, but I have a tray in almost every room of our house. One on our cocktail ottoman (for holding magazines, a tv remote and setting a drink down), one in the center of our dining table (that contains a vase of flowers, a candle, and coasters), one in the bedroom (for jewelry and change), and one in the bathroom (for a tissue box, cotton balls, etc.). They can make organizing a breeze, use a tray to hold all your junk, and contain it to one place.
