Friday Five // Summer Color Infusion

How are we already halfway through summer?! It’s been such a strange season with everything happening in the world, so more than ever I feel like I’m on the hunt for ways to infuse a little happy into our house. This week, I’ve pulled together a few of my must haves for adding a pop of color into your decor, and with a few simple tweaks here and there, you’re sure to be basking in that summer feeling all the way through fall (or longer, if that’s your jam)!

NO. 1 ARTWORK

LouLou Art Studio is an Etsy shop that I'm totally obsessed with right now. The owner & creator, Jemma, creates these gorgeous paintings of families, women, and couples, and they're entirely customizable to you and your family/group's skin tones. I'm currently loving this tropical-inspired print - doesn't it give you all the summer vibes?!

NO. 2 WINDOW TREATMENTS

What better way to soak up those long light-filled days than with updated window treatments? For this season, look for options that allow for light to seep through (think filtered shades or sheer curtains), or go for summer-friendly materials like linen to give your space that seasonal infusion you crave.

NO. 3 FRUIT

Hands down the quickest and most impactful way to make a decor statement is to toss a bunch of fruit in a pretty bowl and set it casually on your counter or table. With the bright colors of citrus (bonus if you can find lemons/limes with their leaves still attached), you'll have a totally stylish room that's magazine photoshoot-ready!

NO. 4 PAINT

You know I love a good door color pop, and right now, ultra-saturated greens have me all kinds of in love. Against a creamy backdrop, the color feels fresh and classic, and it's a shade that has potential from summer all the way through winter. Whatever your color preference, giving your front door a quick update is guaranteed to up your curb appeal game. You'll be the talk of the town!

NO. 5 SIMPLE GREENERY

Summer blooms are everywhere right now, but I've gotta say, sometimes just a simple greenery cutting adds just the right amount of texture to a room. And the best part? It's beyond easy (and free) to find these stems - you can snip them from any backyard bush, and even after some seasonal plants are done flowering, their stems & leaves can still pack a punch in a vase.

Are you in the “make summer last as long as possible” camp? Or are you already itching for a dose of fall to shake things up? I’m not quite ready for those cozy layers and pumpkin-spiced everything yet, but talk to me in a month and I might be on board. For now, it’s off to the kiddie pool in the back with my sunhat and swimsuit - I’m gonna sunbathe for as long as I can!
