Resources + Learning
The events of the past week and a half have had us reeling, and we’ve struggled to find the words to adequately express our sorrow, empathy, and shock at the murder of George Floyd and to relay our sense of urgency in calling for justice and racial equity. But that’s the thing - no words can possibly make this tragedy better, nor can a quick post or sentiment resolve the deep-seated systemic issues within our society. What this moment calls for is deep self-reflection, true action, and a demand for our city and country to do what is right.
While Fridays are usually reserved for our Friday Five series, we have made the decision this week to pause our content, and instead to share with you a list of resources that we have found particularly helpful during this time. There are incredibly important voices that need to be heard and amplified right now within the Black community, and we want their words to be the focus. As we continue to seek understanding on how we can be good allies in this fight, we feel that it is imperative for us to put listening and learning at the forefront of our work.
We hope this list is helpful, and if you have any additional resources to share, please do.
In solidarity,
Laura
