DAY 16 OF THE 30-DAY BLOGGING CHALLENGE
ONE TO FOLLOW
I'm over the hump, its Day 16 of the 30-Day Blogging Challenge! On today's #onetofollow post, I'm going to share some of my secret sources for inspiration. These are the people, places, and things that keep me excited about design and provide inspiration for some of my best ideas. Today I want to introduce you to my friend Erin from the Francois et Moi blog.
Erin and I knew each other before Francois et Moi was a thing, and long before I had my own business. We both worked at the design center in Minneapolis (International Market Square). She worked at a fabric showroom, and I worked for a designer, and we crossed paths regularly. I can remember when I heard that Erin left to start her blog. I was both sad (that I wouldn't see her) and equally excited for her. I've seen her grow her following, be featured in national publications, and taken note as she shared some brilliant DIY projects (some of which I've done in my own home thanks to her tutorials)!
I'm so excited for you guys to check her out, whether you're a DIYer (like me) or just want to get inspired by her beautiful Minneapolis home let's dive in. Check out some of my favorite images and projects from Francois et Moi, and you'll see why she's One To Follow.
Meet Erin
Being a Mom
Erin has some great blog posts about parenting and being a mom, and shares her daughter's room (which by the way I would move into, it's so cute and sophisticated). You can check out the Nursery here.
Bathroom Cafe Curtain
Erin is a girl after my own heart, a no-sew curtain- yes, please! I love a good DIY project, but admittedly, my sewing machine and I don't see eye to eye. I love everything about this project down the color fabric she picked to pop against her all-white bathroom!
Florals
Love this DIY floral post- there are so many of these easy projects on the blog, you guys have to check it out for yourself!
Foyer
The front entry is one of my favorite rooms in the house, and it's one of Erin's more recent projects. She shared lots of great behind the scene pictures and videos on social media through the process and even got the readers involved by asking opinions on things like stained vs. painted steps and runner options. It made me want to dive into my own projects. To give you a little back story, Erin and her husband own a duplex in the Tangletown neighborhood in Minneapolis and have been fixing it up room by room sharing the before and after's, and products they recommend.
Tip & Tricks of the Trade
So, so many helpful tidbits to check out on the blog. Like this post where she covers tips for styling plants, pillows, and how to hang without using nails. You can check it out here.
Back Entry
I have seen Erin style this back entry in many different ways, and every time it looks different but adorable! She has a way with styling that makes everything look so inviting and welcoming. Who wouldn't want to come home to this entry everyday?
Ikea TV Cabinet
This is actually a project that I did in my own home! We've since moved so I don't have a picture of it. When I found the post I was so excited, I took the images to Ikea, bought all the cabinets and put it together (with a little help from my husband), and it was one of my favorite things in the house. We built it with drawers and doors so the kids could keep their toys and movies in it, and the TV sat on top. Such a great idea, I would do a piece like this again!
