Where do I get inspired?

Day 2 of the 30-Day Blogging Challenge

One To Follow

Here we are on Day 2 of the 30-Day Blogging Challenge, and I'm back! Welcome to the first #onetofollow post, where I'm going to share some of my secret sources for inspiration. These are the people, places, and things that keep me excited about design and provide inspiration for some of my best ideas.

Alison Giese Interiors is a constant source of inspiration for me, from her color choices, blending textures, finish selections and her eye for curating her signature "soulful style" #AGIsoulfulstyle. Check out some of my favorite projects and her famous Mood Boards that I swoon over every time and see for yourself why I think Alison is One To Follow.

Meet Alison

Flatlays

Flatlays are designer eye-candy, and this girl knows the way to my heart with her weekly #moodboardmonday posts on Instagram. Look at these, how could you not be inspired! Don't walk, run over to Instagram and give her a follow ASAP! You won’t regret it.

Kitchen

The symmetry of this kitchen gets me every time, seriously, is there anything more pleasing to the eye. And the color combination of the inky gray/blue color to add weight to the base cabinets paired with classic white wall cabinets and crisp white countertops to match. Although my favorite detail is probably these stunning gold pendants, lighting is always the icing on top.

Living Room

It's no secret that I'm a massive fan of all-white walls and warm neutrals, and this living room is on point! I spy my favorite Rejuvenation pendant over the dining table (scaled correctly, of course). If you pay attention, I see vintage, traditional, modern, and natural elements all mixed perfectly for a well-balanced room.

Kitchen

Marble in the kitchen is a hard sell for me unless you use it effectively- like the backsplash! Genius. Marble is prone to staining, scratching, chipping, and while that's fine, if you can appreciate the patina, it's not ideal for most of my client's kitchens. I love how she used a more suitable material for the countertop and showcased the marble as the backsplash. And did you notice how there are no wall cabinets on an entire wall (I think this is going to be a trend we see more this year)?

Bathroom

I love that Alison made shiplap look so sophisticated in this bathroom. There's nothing rustic about it. Instead, it has a traditional vibe but feels approachable.

Styling & Color Choices

A couple of pieces of advice I like to give clients when it comes to styling: 1. Edit, Edit, Edit 2. Use pieces that have meaning to you. And can we all agree, those pillows are the showstopper in the room? So, so good!

Show me more of her great work!

Ok, so you’re hooked right? Where do you find Alison? Check her out on Social Media Here or Here and of course on her website Here.
