Friday Five // Easter Style on a Budget

Though many of us usually spend Easter with extended family, this year’s egg hunt and brunch festivities are going to be spent at home in social distancing style. But the good news is that this holiday can absolutely still be fun and festive - you just need a few touches of spring charm to add to your decor. To get you ready for the weekend ahead, check out my five tips below for pulling together Easter style on a budget. From DIY displays to tablescape essentials, you’ll be set to celebrate this time of year to the fullest.

NO. 1 SIMPLE FLORALS

Adding a bright infusion of decor for Easter is as simple as picking up an inexpensive store-bought bouquet and separating the stems into mix & match bud vases. Don't have a ton of vases on hand? Mason jars, glass bottles, or even cute little mugs can all look eclectic and chic, too - it's all about getting creative!

NO. 2 DIY GARLAND

While there are plenty of adorable easter garland options out there to buy, you can keep things budget-friendly by creating a DIY version. All you need is a traceable bunny shape, paper, cotton balls or poms, and string - you'll have a fun activity that the whole fam will love and you'll be ready to celebrate the holiday in style. It's a win-win!

NO. 3 DESSERT DISPLAY

One of the quickest and easiest ways to upgrade your Easter decor is via food. With a cake stand or other raised dessert display, everything from pastries to cupcakes gets an instant visual upgrade. Though we're not having a ton of guests over to our homes this year, I promise it still helps to boost your mood when your food looks this good!

NO. 4 EGG COLLECTION

Those bright pastel egg dyes are great for the kids, but it doesn't hurt to add a few to the mix in your own style, too (especially if the color palette is neutral and muted like this gorgeous bunch). If you're working with faux eggs, you can keep them out for a while, but if you're using real ones, just be sure to keep them refrigerated until just before the brunch reveal.

NO. 5 BUNNY NAPKINS

Ok, how perfect are these bunny napkins?! I love the idea of adding a touch of an Easter theme to the table without going too bright or kitschy, and in my opinion, a classic cloth napkin automatically elevates a tablescape like nothing else. And if we're all stuck at home still, we may as well make the most out of it, don't you think? (Tutorial in the link below!)

We may not get to celebrate this holiday exactly the way we imagined, but I guarantee that regardless of what you wear or what your table setting looks like, your kids and family will have a great time. It’s not easy to spend these seasonal milestones in the confines of our homes, but remember that we can all make it a weekend to remember with a few inexpensive Easter pops - and that just might bring a smile to your face and make it all feel a bit more okay.
