Friday Five // What I'm Loving Right Now

FRIDAY FIVE

It's the end of January (can you believe it?!), so this week, I'm giving you a rundown of some of my fave things that have topped my "must have" list this month. From wardrobe wish lists to decor staples for the modern traditional lovers out there, I've got five recommendations that you won't want to miss.

NO. 1 SWEATSHIRTS WITH WORDS

I like to think of my personal style as "classic," but everyone needs a comfy sweatshirt in their arsenal, too. This "raising boys" sweatshirt 100% sums up my life right now, and paired with jeans and a cute pair of boots, it's the perfect weekend uniform. Not a boy mom? Fear not! They have tons of other options you're sure to love!

NO. 2 HEAVY TEXTURED RUGS

Need a rug that's easy to coordinate with your current style and color combo? Enter in the sisal rug. It looks amazing as a standalone piece, or if you want to add a bit of pizazz, try layering it underneath a smaller patterned rug. With a textured neutral like this, defining a seating area and adding depth to a room has never been simpler.

NO. 3 BENJAMIN MOORE’S FIRST LIGHT

Benjamin Moore's 2020 color of the year is First Light, and while I've never been a huge pink fan, I love this one. It's a softer and almost peachy shade of blush that is simply gorgeous. Plus, it totally translates as a neutral, so you know I'm absolutely on board. I recommend pairing it with whites and grays for a quiet, feminine look that will wow.

NO. 4 MODERN LIGHTS

Projects that blur the lines between modern and traditional are my absolute favorites. But, not everyone is entirely comfortable with stepping too far into the modern realm (especially if they're working with an older, traditional home). The best way to add an infusion of it is via a light fixture here or there. It introduces it into the mix, but doesn't feel overwhelming or too bold.

NO. 5 VINTAGE JARS

I'm a firm believer that a few vintage or antique finds peppered throughout a home give it character that can't be beat. Of course, you don't have to go all out and live with only period furniture and decor. In fact, I recommend doing the opposite - you don't want everything to feel old, but with just a few accessories here or there, it'll add an infusion of charm and style that feels timeless and chic.

What topped your list for January? Are you loving a new tile trend, or maybe a recent read? Share away! I'd love to add it into the mix!
