Friday Five // Looks I'm Loving

Clean. Classic. Chic. If those words sound exactly like your dream styled space, then you will LOVE this week’s Friday Five round up. Because as much as we love to play with color and whimsical patterns, it’s always a good idea to balance it out with a few key elements that are a bit more streamlined and pared down (and trust us when we say that that never goes out of style). From nature-infused decor to pops of traditional materials and patterns, using a combination of simple, but impactful decor touches is guaranteed to help a room to feel warm and relaxing all around. And these days, we can’t think of anything better.

  1. Schoolhouse Lights 2. Earthenware Vases 3. Ticking Stripe 4. Wild Marble Patterns 5. Audrey Ficus Tree

NO. 1 SCHOOLHOUSE LIGHTS

Who says lights have to be wild and unexpected? You can pack just as much visual punch with a timeless pedant like this one from Schoolhouse. In fact, between the modern silhouette and the sleek brushed bronze finish, it’s a light fixture that’s sure to work seamlessly with your existing space, no matter what your home decor style may be. Plus, when you keep your lighting straightforward and subtle, it gives you freedom to play with bolder colors and patterns in the rest of the room (sign me up for that!).

NO. 2 EARTHENWARE VASES

If there’s any decor piece that I can’t get enough of, it’s a really really good vase. Now, we all probably have a few of those run-of-the-mill vases we’ve collected over the years thanks to floral deliveries from our loved ones. And while those certainly come in handy in a pinch, they’re usually, well, a little boring. I’m all about incorporating unique and interesting vases instead because whether you style it with a collection of mix & match vases for a curated look, or you let it stand alone with a freshly-clipped branch from your yard, it has the potential to shine (versus used as just a vessel to hold some flowers in for a few days). So, if you’re ready to spice up your vase displays, look no further than these hand-panted vases from Pottery Barn. Between the antique vibes and the totally stunning shapes, they definitely made my jaw drop to the floor.

NO. 3 TICKING STRIPE

I’m forever in need of another set of kitchen towels lately - especially since I’m desperately trying to kick that old paper towel habit! But why settle for a bland set of utilitarian ones when you can sneak a splash of style into the mix, too? I am obsessed with these ticking stripe numbers right now, and for good reason. Not only are they super durable, but their neutral palette gives me all the French vibes. And since we can’t actually be in France right now, might as well bring it home, don’t you think?

NO. 4 WILD MARBLE PATTERNS

It’s hard to find a trend more show-stopping than a countertop & backsplash in an ultra-bold marble. But committing to a large coverage area like that takes some confidence, and it’s not a style choice to make if you’re on the fence about it. If you love the natural look of marble and are dying to add a touch of it into your space (without full-on committing to a permanent installation), then this Plinth Table is meant for you. Use it as a coffee table, nightstand, and more - it’s absolutely gorgeous and will without a doubt elevate your space to that oh-la-la level you’ve always craved.

NO. 5 AUDREY FICUS TREE

Believe it or not, there is a bit of spring in the air this week (anyone else finally seeing their green grass again??). And when spring hits, I get some serious plant fever. There’s nothing quite like throwing open those windows and bringing a new potted beauty to brighten up the room. But not everyone has a natural green thumb, and not everyone wants a faux plant either. So, what to do for those in-between plant lovers like myself? Enter in the Audrey Ficus Tree! This little pretty is trend-setting, adds just the right amount of texture and height to your home, and on top of it all, it’s rumored to be quite easy to take care of. That’s my kind of indoor plant!
