Friday Five // Etsy Round Up
I won’t lie, I can spend a LOT of time scrolling through Instagram. But lately, Etsy has been giving the old ‘gram a run for her money. I mean, seriously - if you’ve ever been on the hunt for a new decor piece that’s totally customized to your style, then Etsy is your new haven. And before you think of Etsy as a place for only bachelorette-themed party supplies or overdone “live, laugh, love” signage, think again! They have some incredible pieces that will blow your mind (if you know where to look!). That’s why this week, I’m doing a round up of my current faves for sale - and just in time for that spring decor refresh, too! So, read on, and get ready to fall head over heels.
NO. 1 VINTAGE
Listen - as nice as it is to pull pieces from curated collections from some of the major brand names and retailers out there, nothing makes your home feel more inviting and curated than tossing a bit of vintage into the mix. But if sourcing furniture, artwork, or chandelier fixtures isn’t really in your wheelhouse, you can still get a touch of vintage charm. Simply look for easy and functional decor pieces that, while small, still pack a punch. This basket is the perfect example. Not only is it drop-dead gorgeous, but it can be used for everything from a catchall tray on a coffee table to a sculptural addition to a bookshelf. I can’t get enough!
NO. 2 LIGHTING
I am a firm believer that the right lighting can totally transform a room. And I’m always keeping my eyes peeled for fixtures that feel totally unique and fun. This sconce fits both criteria perfectly. It’s definitely got a modern aesthetic with its clean brass lines and stylish milk glass globes. But at the same time, the double globes and curves of each arm give it a touch of whimsy that I just love. Put a pair on either side of your vanity or pop one at the end of a hallway as a standout conversation starter - it’s guaranteed to look ah-mazing no matter where you install it.
NO. 3 RUGS
If you’re someone who loves to incorporate one-of-a-kind decor into your space, then owning a vintage rug (or a few) is right up your alley. I absolutely love the variety this shop offers - from bright and saturated area rugs to subtle and neutral runners, there is without a doubt a rug that’s meant for you. Plus, shopping vintage for your floors makes for a durable and reliable experience in the long run. Rugs like these are easy to clean up in a pinch, and the fact that they’re handmade means they are seriously high quality.
NO. 4 PILLOWS
House & Habitat’s pillow collection is stunning. And although they have a wide array of patterns, colors, and styles, they all feel timeless, so you can easily mix and match any of them together. And as I’ve said many times before, refreshing your pillows is one of the quickest and most impactful ways to refresh your space! Not sure which to choose? I recommend going with a simple and reliable pattern to start. The plaid stripe is my current obsession, and it’s got just the right mix of neutrals to make it pop.
NO. 5 ART
Let’s be honest - sometimes it can be tough to find art that fits the exact size and style you’re on the hunt for. That’s why digital art downloads from shops like this one on Etsy are total lifesavers. If you fall in love with a print, you have a range of size options to choose from - no more settling for a too-small or too-large piece just because it’s the only one they offer. The download arrives instantly after checkout, and all you have to do from there is send it to your fave printer and get it framed in whichever style you love. Sound like a dream? It is - but we promise it’s not too good to be true.
Have you shopped on Etsy before? Or have you always been hesitant to give it a try? Well, this spring, we say go for it - there’s no better time to refresh your decor, and buying pieces you absolutely love through and through is worth it all.
