Friday Five // Seeing Green
I’m a total sucker for holidays. And I’m not just talking the big ones - I mean all the little ones in between. Especially these days, why not use them as an excuse to shake things up and celebrate? St. Patrick’s Day is right around the corner and I can’t think of a better holiday to fit the bill. Because aside from the fact that it’s inherently a fun and happy time (hello, parades, music, and green beer!), it’s also a holiday that incorporates one of my fave colors: green. So, this week, I’m leaning into the festivities and getting all kinds of inspired. If you’re ready to incorporate this gorgeous hue into your space, read on. (And I totally will not judge you for having a green beer in your hand while you’re updating that decor.)
NO. 1 GREENERY
It might not be quite the right time for planting season, but that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy a little greenery in your decor. House of Jade’s Faux Charlston Stem is absolutely jaw-dropping in its realistic appearance, and the soft, almost ethereal, quality makes it the exact right fit for a dip into spring decor. Try it solo in an oversized vase for a seasonal tablescape topper, or weave a few stems together to create a St. Patrick’s Day-worthy wreath for your front door. There’s no limit to the creative possibilities! It’s honestly so good, you can keep it up year round (and since it’s faux, it’ll actually last more than 2 weeks - win!).
NO. 2 TILE
While you can never go wrong with a classic subway tile, sometimes it’s nice to spice things up a bit. If you’re ready for a splash of color and personality (but not quite ready to commit to a bold graphic tile), then why not go for an infusion of ultra-saturated green subway tiles? I love that the pattern of these beauties from Mercury Mosaics still feels timeless, but the blue-green shade gives it a whole new take on the style we’ve come to expect nearly everywhere we go. And as a bonus? All of the tiles at Mercury Mosaics are handmade, so your backsplash or shower walls will be 100% unique (and oh-so-natural).
NO. 3 BOWL
While trays are probably my fave quick style accessory, bowls come in close second. I absolutely love their versatility. From a quick spot to toss keys and other essentials to a display for fruit or even a sculptural addition to a shelfie, there’s no limit to the ways you can incorporate it into your space. And for a green-inspired take on this classic, you won’t want to miss this stunner of a handmade ceramic bowl from Pottery Barn. Its speckled appearance is sure to make any tabletop shine (and your guests will definitely ask you where you got it from - on repeat).
NO. 4 BEDDING
You know I love to spruce up my bedding at the start of each season. So, as we head into spring, what better excuse than to add a splash of green to the mix? I’m loving this set from West Elm - it’s fresh, classic, and the perfect subtle shade - just enough to pop, but also blend in with your existing decor. And in my opinion, green is pretty much a neutral anyways - it goes with almost anything. Just remember that when you shift to spring/summer bedding, you want to go with lighter fabrics overall (think linen and cotton). That way you’ll stay cool even when those temps start to get uncomfortably high.
NO. 5 ART
Refreshing your space for spring doesn’t have to mean a total remodel. One of the best - and easiest - ways to get a whole new vibe is to swap out your artwork. I cannot get enough of this grass print from Juniper. It gives me all the spring and summer feels, and I love the idea of incorporating a touch of texture and color into my space. Plus, you can purchase this either as a digital download, or as a print all the way up to 55x79! Need a wow-worthy wall mural? This is made for you!
What’s your favorite part about St. Patrick’s Day? Are you a holidays year-round kind of person? Or do you reserve all your spirit to go all out on the big ones? No matter your style, I think there’s one thing we can all agree on - green is definitely a color that shines.
