Day 9 of the 30-day blogging challenge
One to follow
Here we are on Day 9 of the 30-Day Blogging Challenge! Welcome back to our #onetofollow post, where I'm going to share some of my secret sources for inspiration. These are the people, places, and things that keep me excited about design and provide inspiration for some of my best ideas.
I found Grand Traditions on Instagram through another designer's feed. Per the usual routine, I went over to their profile and saw their portfolio- I was drooling over every picture! Then I went to their website so I could see more, and I could have sat there all day scrolling through their projects. I've been pinning their images like crazy so that I can come back for inspiration for my clients.
I'm highlighting a few images and sharing what I love about them, hopefully, you'll see why they're my One to Follow pick for this week.
Kitchen
Does this kitchen not make you want to melt! I don't know if its the blue backsplash tile or the perfect balance of rustic and modern elements that give it a refined farmhouse feel, but I'm in. Just one of the many spaces that you'll love from their portfolio.
Exterior
I recently helped a client with an exterior paint color refresh, and when I came across this picture, I knew we had found the perfect inspiration image. At first glance, it seems so simple. But when you look closer, they've mixed several types of materials, which give it lots of texture while only using a few colors. Brilliant!
Butlers Pantry
I love how they put the open shelves right over the window in this pantry! Why lose the valuable wall space for storage or eliminate a window, you never want to miss an opportunity for natural light. Plus, this way, you can see what you have.
Faucet
Details like this sink plumbing set up don't go unnoticed by a designer. Such a smart idea to put the air switch (also known as the garbage disposal button) under the bridge faucet. Trust me, when you get to that point in the project when you have to make decisions like where to put the air switch, air gap, sprayer, and drinking water faucet, you'll understand why this picture is so helpful.
Front Door
The front door is one of the most simple and beautiful entryways I've ever seen. It's so smart how they created architectural interest with the rustic beams in a space with no walls. And those blue doors! The area needed that little pop of color.
