Looking for paint colors?

Day 13 of the 30-day blogging challenge

Paint Colors

I thought it might be fun to share the paint colors from some of my most popular spaces. Today I'm going to highlight a couple of Showcase Home rooms that I've done in the past. What I love is how we mixed a combination of paint, wallpaper, millwork, and other architectural details to make these spaces amazing. But everyone ALWAYS wants to know the paint colors, it’s the most common question I get asked. Other details from these homes may not be as accessible to most people, but everyone can paint. It's cheap and easy to do, which is why I wanted to share the colors (and link up some of the other elements from the rooms just in case you're wondering where they came from).

Her Office Paint Colors

The Designers Guild wallpaper was the jumping-off point for the whole room. This office gets so much light, and there was lots of millwork and cabinetry in white, so I wanted to find a wall color that would pop with a dark color to contrast. This Fairmont Green by Benjamin Moore is the perfect inviting green color with a bit of drama when mixed with all the other elements in the room.

I wanted the ceiling to have a hint of color without overpowering the room, which is why we picked this lovely shade of blush called Beautiful in my Eyes by Benjamin Moore.

Her Office Cabinetry Color

The cabinetry and millwork throughout the house were all painted in one of my favorite white colors, Chantilly Lace by Benjamin Moore. This shade of white is a great color if you're looking for a clean and crisp white, not yellow or blue but very bright and pure feeling.

His Office Ceiling Color

It's very subtle. I doubt you even noticed, but its there. We did a pale gray/blue on the ceiling called Night Mist by Benjamin Moore. It's a lighter version of the wallpaper color that you'll find tucked in the back of the bookcases on the back wall. I didn't want a white ceiling to look harsh against all the rich wood in the room.

Porch Ceilings

Did you notice the porch ceiling color? Did you know that blue ceilings are a thing on porches- its a southern tradition you can read about it here. The blue came at the request of the homeowner, and we were totally on board. We went with Wythe Blue by Benjamin Moore, and it tied in perfectly with the sofa slipcover and the stripes on some of the furniture upholstery. We loved how this shade of blue/green had a water-like quality to match the coastal theme of the home that year.
